OK here's what I want to know. All we ever hear about is the one dollar houses in Detroit, doom and gloom, yada yada. But every Sunday the Free Press lists homes sold in Wayne-Oakland-Macomb. I only look at the Detroit sales but some of the prices don't really seem *that* bad considering the economy in this area. I'm wondering how many of these "sales" listed in the paper are re-fi's by the owner as opposed to selling the house to another party. Either way, a person would need a Very High credit rating.

Speculators, just another reason for Detroit's ills. A city doesn't need more people owning property. They need people to INVEST in those properties to bring them back from oblivion.
