We notice that many are not completing the final step of registration on the new forum. We created a post in that regard over there and I am repeating it here for maximum visibility:

We notice that there are many who have not confirmed their activation and are wondering why they can't post, edit their profiles, see pictures, etc. If that is you, here is the reason.
We notice that there are many who have not confirmed their activation and are wondering why they can't post, edit their profiles, see pictures, etc. If that is you, here is probably the reason.
-You agree to the conditions
-You fill out the form.
-You get your activation link email
-You click the activation link [most problems are starting here or in the next point.]
-Your account goes in the approval queue.
-A moderator approves your account and it becomes active.
-You get an second email informing you that you are accepted.
-You begin posting.
After you filled out the forum you would have seen this:
You are not finished! You have one final step
Check your email now. You will receive an email with the subject line Action Required to Activate Membership for DetroitYES Forums. You MUST follow the link in that email before you can post on these forums. Until you do that, you will be told that you do not have permission to post. NOTE: If you don't get the email be sure to check any spam or junk mail folders to make sure it was not moved there. This has happened to several others.
STEP FOUR: Await Moderator Approval.
Your registration will be reviewed by one of our moderators and your account will usually be approved in a hour or two but allow up to 24 hours.
You will receive an automated email notice once a moderator has approved your account with the subject line Account Validated at DetroitYES forums! Once that is received you will be able to immediately post, edit your profile and do all the other fun stuff.
[I would add to the above^ that if you do not find the email to be sure to check any junk mail or spam folders to make sure it the email did not land in one of those.
Once again!

Lowell, I registered on the new site yesterday evening but haven't gotten the follow up e-mail to go further. My friends tell me my personal info is now out there for all to see & I can't get in to hide it. Not good. |

There is an activation step, and then after the activation step the users have to wait for another activation?

Ravine, I was wondering where you've been. I'm pissed too and i wish we would have known that our personal info. would be plastered all over the place. I've been told to go into your "cp" at the top blue bar then go to the privacy settings and check off either "friends" or "contacts". When i click on my "see what everyone else sees" it shows everything. i guess theres some finishing up to do. I was able to delete a few things but as far as my name, no can do! |

I did a gmail search for spam and everything. Nothing from Detroit Yes. I was able to request a password change though, and that came immediately and I saw it in my inbox... But i'm still not admitted as an actual user... |

Even though it says that, I guess it is not true. I had someone check mine after I followed the steps to hide the profile and they couldn't see anything. |
