Ok... just a quick question... has anyone else on here seen Traffic Tracker 7 (which is a joke) and their Traffic Girl Erin Nicole... (gee, I wonder how she got her job ;-) )

Anyways... she always states "...when you're travelling along those lines..." indicating the LINES on the screen... is it too much for her to call them ROADS? I have to laugh every time I watch her on the news...

Those are some fine journalistic credentials. If she can get a part-time job as a stripper, mabye she can make it to the anchor chair.

HAHAHA... yeah, that'd definitely be her! I just cannot get over how completely, well for lack of a better word, retarded she is. Although I think of all the news anchor teams I like to watch the most, I think watching Charles Pugh and Deena Centofanti on Fox2... between their delightfully bitchy banter and constantly catty conversation, the total lack of responsible news is always fun to watch on the weekends... But Channel 7 is and always will be my trusted news source... they've got a GREAT anchor team and they've always stood by the City of Detroit it seems... even though broadcast house is way out in Southfield... and they've got catchy Detroit jingles (remember "Stand Up and Tell 'Em You're From Detroit"?)

No journalistic credentials are needed any more to get into TV news. Why? It's entertainment, not really news. It's a given that those people you see on camera are more like actors than reporters.

Why doesn't the TV news biz just admit that they're not seeking credible journalists? They're only interested in putting pretty people who "present well" in front of the cameras and spout all the vapid cliches that people expect to hear (all the while grinning a big, dumb, toothy smile).

Television news is a joke, and has been for some time. You can probably count the number of serious TV journalists in the Detroit market on one hand.

Exactly Fury, there's a news anchor down here in Cincy who landed her job after being a singer/dancer at Kings Island.

ROFL! King's Island?! that's funny...

There are a number of serious broadcast journalists here in Detroit... unfortunately, you are correct that I can count them on one hand... They, of course, would be the long timers that we've seen on TV for a while... Diana Lewis, Don Shane and Robbie Timmons on Channel 7; Carmen Harlan of Channel 4.

Channel 7 has always been a 'pretty face' station as far as I can see. They have a few attractive personalities ..... Carolyn Clifford, Erin Nicole, Glenda Lewis, Shay Ryan just to name the females. I have heard women co-workers talked about Glenn Zimmerman, Vic Faust as being studs. So, it is no surprise that a blonde babe like Ms. Nicole gets the job based on her 'hot' factor. Make no mistake about it. The TV business is a business of ratings, has been that way for quite a while.

Most of the A tier talent has left town, you can see a lot of former 7 reporters on CNN and other outlets. Anne Thompson of NBC -- she was at 4 for years.

The salaries locally don't keep the best people here anymore.

Reporting traffic could be done by anyone; getting and holding your attention [and clearly she has yours] is a totally separate skill set and far more important as far as a station's bottom line goes.

Nothing exceptional here and flippantly calling her a 'dumb blond' tells us far more about you than her.

She does the gametime promotions during the Pistons games at the Palace. She does a pretty good job--not a bad gig if you ask me.

Glenn Zimmerman is married to Ch. 7's weathergirl Shay Ryan. Draw your own conclusions.

nobody has mentioned channel 7's ability to gather and foster young talent and keep them in metro Detroit. How about what a nice way to give a local their big break and the ability to grow in its hometown market?
Many out of town applicants were turned down for this job so that a local talent could have the ability to make a name for herself

At the risk of sounding like a knuckle-dragger, these female "sideline commentators" at NFL games sure have me puzzled. First of all, usually I can't understand a word they are saying, and secondly, what I do hear is usually so unimportant I wonder why they even bother. Anyone else share that view?

So where is she stripping? That's a show I'd like to see! She looks pretty high class, so I'm guessing she is either up at Colliseum or one of the places over in Windsor.

I have heard from some people that Erin Nicole may have also appeared in Eminem's music video, "When I'm Gone". Not sure about the truth behind that, though. I am sure we have music fans here who could authenticate/acknowledge or refute the claim.

With all things considered, why is there so much rage over an attractive woman ? I have no problem watching Erin Nicole, or Shay Ryan, or Glenda Lewis on Channel 7 ..... perhaps I am in the minority for having a liking towards hot women.
