A friend emailed me a list of Faygo flavors, one of which was called "Cletis". Anyone know what the heck that was? I never heard of it. |

I just looked on Faygos website. They don't list "Cletis" as one of their flavors. |

All of the "Cletis" references to Faygo on the web originate from Wikipedia. Does that answer your question? |

I believe "Cletis" is the flavor of pulled pork ...or was that pulled leg? |

Google shows several references related to Faygo regarding someone named "Cletis KKK Perkins." I'd disregard this until someone provides more credible evidence. |

One of those random thoughts out of nowhere and no reason that our friend Gannon explains so well occurred to me. Cletis(sp?) was a flavor that Faygo developed to compete with Mountain Dew not long after Dew hit the shelves and became popular. Also had a "hillbilly" character on the bottle. |

Favorite faygo had to be REDPOP babeeeeeeeeeeee! rock and rye rocked also! (Message edited by walterwaves on February 01, 2007) |

Gambling_man: quote:...didn't "Moonshine" have a picture of a hillbilly on the side? You may be thinking of Mountain Dew. I just happened to recently find a photo of the original bottle design. It was definitely a hillbilly. I think I'll search for it again. |

Please understand that many of the entries that you read on Wikipedia have not been verified. They are known for having a hard time employing enough workers to be able to check accuracy on all of the entries. I'm not 100% sure, but I'd be willing to guess that a list of soda flavors is not exactly at the top of their list of priorities either. Funny though. Cletis. |

Apparently somebody (a know-it-all, perhaps) whose IP numbers are 69.246.45.8 took it upon himself to pull the Cletis information. Now, if this edit was done in error, would this body reinstate it back? |

Wasn't Cletis the Nutty Professor's flatulent father in the Eddie Murphy movie? Maybe the effervescent bubbles in the Cletis beverage give you.... nevermind! |

I remember 'Moonshine' Faygo from the early 80s (I mentioned this on the Faygo Centennial thread), and it came back as 'Moon Mist' in the early 90s. Does any1 remember Diet Frosh? that one came and went in the 80s. What about Artic Sun? Came and went in the 90s-they should've kept that one goin'! The 1st few jobs I had as teenager, that was ALL I would drink! I think the blue bottle sparked that movement (lol). Does Faygo still make the Vanilla Creme? And didn't they make a chocolate soda in the 80s as well? |
