NOTES: On and beside the golden vineyard-shouldered Rhine commerce hums past idyllic villages. My love of orange-green color combinations is betrayed in this painting, based off a drawing I made, looking north up the Rhine River above the Village of Trechtlingshausen in 1990. The car and road were added to the scene to emulate the driving sensation of one gets when the Rhine gorge suddenly and dramaticly appears out of the rolling countryside.
