Does anyone know exactly where the building was on Jefferson. I remember it wasn't too far from the Belle Isle Bridge. What was it intended to be? When was it torn down?

I don't think it's the one I mean. This one was never finished.

There was a thread about an unfinished building started by the Elks Club on Jefferson.

Paging Bob_cosgrove.

Thanks Charlottepaul,
Since the reconfiguration of this site, I've been unable to successfully work the search function.

Frustrating, when I see a new thread, about a topic that was already beaten to death, started, and I'm unable to find the old one.

Well basically I searched for "Elks Club" in the subject of the thread with the 'and' search option. First few tries the system errored out, so I just redid the search with simply the word 'elks.' It definitely is a task to search for past threads.

Jams is an Old-Head D'Yer Charlotte. You would assume that he gets all bugged up about stuff like that.

LOL. Sometimes it is almost easier to just search for the DY thread on your favorite internet search web site.

That's what I do. You have to remember the Exact name of it or at least 98% of it and include the site's name in the search or you'll just come up null.

Sorry Caldogven, didn't mean to hi-jack. WE were just discussing something an old member brought up. Back to the Original Topic.

Caldogven,
Don't worry, business as usual here.

Sometimes a thread will bring something else up, as I did, and the thread goes askew.

I learned a bit more of using the search function from this thread, thanks to some taking the time to explain their procedures, instead of lambasting me for my lack of knowledge.

No problem! I just didn't want to upset anyone.
