[Sorry for the duplicate thread... I didn't see the earlier topic] This has to be the ultimate example of the inane fragmented approach to municipal government in our region: A couple is shot in Royal Oak Twp. As they lay in the street bleeding for a half hour, the Ferndale police and an ambulance stand by, unable or unwilling to help. From the Detroit News: "Though an ambulance and Ferndale Police waited nearby, neither would approach the scene without the Michigan State Police, the agency responsible for overnight patrols in the township. The ambulance wouldn't go in without a police escort; Ferndale officers were only there as backups because the crime scene was out of their jurisdiction." What kind of fuxking lunatic state do we live in and when will people demand change? (Message edited by ray on July 18, 2007) |

True, they were out of their jurisdiction, but it would have been kind of them to help the couple. (Message edited by Urbanize on July 18, 2007) |
