If you love the Detroit Historical Museum and Dossin Great Lakes Museum, this is a really easy way to support them ... just have dinner out on Tuesday at one of these places!

As part of the observance of the city’s 306th birthday, the Detroit Historical Society is launching a new fundraising event that asks people who care about the region’s heritage to “Dine Out for Detroit History” on Tuesday, July 24th.

A total of 51 restaurants offer a wide variety of dining options, with up to 20 percent of guest’s dinner bills supporting the Society’s efforts to preserve and present the history of the region. The event takes place on the actual anniversary of the founding of the “city on the straits” by French voyageur Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac on July 24, 1701.
