The Trinity Film Festival is this weekend and I heard that the screenings at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel on Saturday are free (Details at www.trinityfilcoalition.com).

The schedule looks good and there are at least two locally-made, award-winning films in the lineup on Saturday. "The Death of Michael Smith" (Dan Casey) took second place in its category at Slamdance this year (The first film from Michigan to be accepted into the festival) and "Broken" (Derek Justice & David DeLeon) won best-in-category at The Indie Gathering in Cleveland.

On Friday, there's a special Michael Smith screening and an after party at Prive. And the awards brunch is Sunday at the Greektown Casino.
