Granholm can share blame with all of the politicans in Lansing. Granholm is doing a poor job but leaders like Dillon, DeRoche and Bishop are no better. |

Wait! What about all those commercials across the country saying how awesome it is to move your business to Michigan. Is it false advertising? |

MI was #45 in 2006. However, WI is only #44--down from #39. |

Interesting how we are # 3 in terms of regulatory environment.. Republicans should take that to the bank of how that makes no difference in a businesses decision to move here or grow their business.. |

We were told by the governor: "In five years you'll be blown away" Will the last one turn out the lights when leaving? |

If the lights dont get turned off first... I wonder if people will be able to find their way out of this state if that happens... |

Blaming Granholm or anyone at the state level is a bit nearsighted. Companies are leaving here to reduce operating costs so they can compete with the deluge of Chinese goods flooding our markets. The culprit is at the federal level. The most damaging trade policies this country has ever had to endure. Thank Clinton and the geniuses in there now for allowing it to continue. It all goes back to campaign finance reform. This current seat-warmer raised 214 million dollars to run for president? And the contributors expected nothing in return? Globalization.. my #$%! I cannot believe the American people are idly standing by and allowing this to happen. |

We had this discussion a few weeks back. The poster of the thread was all flumoxed when someone pointed out the fact Forbes rated cities like Youngstown OH over San Jose CA. It would seem the editors of these lists use methodology no more scientific then throwing darts at a map. |

Its amazing that the same ones who will complain about the bad leadership coming from the white house will make excuses for the bad leadership coming from the governors mansion. Our state is in dire straits, it's not all Granholms doing but she isn't making the situation any better and the buck stops at here desk. |

Funny that California, New York, nor Illinois are in the top 10, I would have expected them to rate much higher. In fact we shouldnt be upset at all New York is 33, California is 34, and Illinois is 40 according to this list. (Message edited by mayor_sekou on August 03, 2007) |

In ten years, Michigan might rank #53 after Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands become states. |

This is one of those situations where fixing Detroit will help fix the state. As downtown becomes more appealing, more businesses will choose to locate there. Take it from someone who currently works at Telegraph and BFE. It's better to work in a city. |

That sucks. A lot. That said, I'd still rather live here than in 40 other states in the union. Hell, I'd rather sleep in a cardboard box outside Michigan Central Station than live in Arkansas. |

don't let Granholm off the hook. She's an idiot and the leader has to be accountable for what happens on her watch. |
