Can you name all the flags that have flown over Michigan in it's diverse history? Not counting the state flag.

Spain controled the fort in Niles, Michigan for a period of time. That is why the city is known as "The City of Four Flags"

Michigan's license plate for the Bicentennial used from 1976 to 1978 had four stars on the left side of the plate to signify the four flags it flew under. Little trivia for you young'uns.

Beaver Island was declared a Kingdom in the 1800's. Expect they had a flag, or at least a Beaver skin on a stick.

The U.S. flag didn't fly over Detroit until July 11, 1796. The British refused to let go of the city due to its strategic location along the Detroit River, even though the rest of Michigan was part of the Northwest Territory.
