I read this in the latest copy of Crains. A developer in Florida bought it. They plan to remodel the building and lease it to the Department of Homeland Security. Sorry I don't have the internet link.

Lets hope food retailers will get with the program and finally lease the old Farmer Jack across the street.

Seems like just yesterday it was built and opened by the DPD. But, then again, for old farts like me, it seems like just yesterday that Teddy was down in Panama........ :-)

I'm confused. The article referred to an office building "to be built on the site" of the 5th precinct, implying that the building will be torn down, but then they said the developer will "remodel" it, which implies the opposite. So which is it?

It's still a structurally sound building. The article says their leasing 60000 sq ft. I don't know if that building has that much room.

Some one bought the old police precinct on Fort Street also. They did a nice job of fixing it up and landscaping. I dont know the name of the company, AMA or something....
