Southwest Detroit will have Michigan first Business Improvement Zone or Business Improvement District. In a BID local businesses pay for security,cleanup, marketing and parking in the BID. Great! I was hoping they would do this downtown around the Grand Circus Park/Bagley/Michigan area. Property owners around there really need to get pushed in order to step up to the plate. | ||

This is excellent. It's good to see neighborhoods taking advantage of these tools. This, in addition to the Corridor Improvement Authority on Eight Mile, should encourage other neighborhoods to become more proactive & creative themselves. | ||
