Blackman & Arnold - yesyesyes! Too many great bands in Detroit, don't get me started. Honestly though, I've seen Blanche several times and was always underwhelmed. |

Mauser, those cruises were big fun...the Mess also played every Thurs at the Sunset Cafe in Hamtram for a few years. They were in their jump band mode with the great Sweet Lou Barnett on tenor sax... |

The Great Fiction Manna & Quail I'm in no shape affiliated with either of these bands but if you are into lovely/melodic/daze inspiring atmospheric type tones then you should watch Daniel Zott open up for M&Q this Friday night at The Magic Bag. |

The Muggs did a great job, they are very Detroit rock. The vocals could have come out better last night, hopefully they can tighten that up for the competition. But the musicianship and the passion is great! |

I was in a band back in the day. We used to play with other bands like Arizing, One Degree Off, Left, Forge, Perpetual Hype Engine, Sicks, Site 220. We were originally called Killswytch and later changed our name to Odious. I'm 28 now and was 21-22 when the band broke up. Factory 81 played with most of the bands mentioned above and was the only one to 'make it' allthough they didn't last long. |

One of my hobbies is collecting music and I love going to see live music. I saw Black Sabbath at the Palace and I like the local band called THTX. Has anyone heard of this group? Does anyone know of bands that sound like Black Sabbath and Goth? |

Trainman, THTX shows up at lots of small venues/artsy stuff, frontman guitarist Matthew Smith also runs Outrageous Cherry. For similar local sounds try The Empress Plague, Paik, Halon, then ease into His Name Is Alive, Windy & Carl. Here are a few other bands not previously listed on this thread that I'd pay to see again : Dutch Pink, Sirens, Come Ons, SilverGhost, Serenity Court, Troy Gregory & the Stepsisters (especially the 'sisters...), Battling Siki, Nice Device, Slumber Party, Sights, Noman, Siddhartha, Loretta Lucas & sister/Larkspurs/friends, Johnny Headband. Don't miss the Muldoons! |
