Salvation Army awarded additional $3.1 million to fund community center
The Salvation Army Central Territorial Headquarters has awarded its Southeast Michigan affiliate an additional $3.1 million from the estate of Joan Kroc.
The money will help the Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division cover the inflationary costs incurred since it began work on the plan for the Detroit Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center

The Kroc family gives money to the Salvation Army locations all over the country. I guess that is what you ideally do when you are the founder of a billion dollar company...
