Well, if it was a suicide, and I guess if you want to get it over with quickly, choosing the express way by taking a walk on an expressway is appropriate.

Man killed walking on Lodge

November 5, 2007

DETROIT FREE PRESS STAFF

A portion of the Lodge was shut down for nearly three hours Monday night after Michigan State Police said a man was killed after walking into oncoming traffic.

The man was hit around 4:20 p.m. on the Lodge, heading south, between the Linwood and Davison East exits. State police said the man, in his early 30s, walked in to traffic from the right-hand shoulder.

At 6:15 p.m. the man’s body lay in the far right-hand, southbound lane, covered by a yellow tarp held down with wooden crates. A lone shoe sat on the highway several feet from the body. A burgundy Ford minivan sat a few dozen feet south of the body with its front windshield smashed.

State police said they questioned the driver. No one else was injured.

Police said it is unclear if the man accidentally or deliberately walked across the highway.
