The man was hit around 4:20 p.m. on the Lodge, heading south, between the Linwood and Davison East exits. State police said the man, in his early 30s, walked in to traffic from the right-hand shoulder. At 6:15 p.m. the man’s body lay in the far right-hand, southbound lane, covered by a yellow tarp held down with wooden crates. A lone shoe sat on the highway several feet from the body. A burgundy Ford minivan sat a few dozen feet south of the body with its front windshield smashed. State police said they questioned the driver. No one else was injured. Police said it is unclear if the man accidentally or deliberately walked across the highway. | ||
