My guess would be the opposite. The thing's been so popular the science center doesn't want to give it up. If the science center wasn't making more from this than their normal exhibits, they would have booted it long ago. |

Place was very busy when I went just last week. I'm sure it's a profit center for the Science Center, and I say go for it. The rest of the place needs more repairs and things, and I'm guessing it's because they're in a perpetual low funding machine. |

It runs concurrently in other cities. It's not just in Detroit right now. |

I believe it ends January 6, unless they've extended it yet again. I haven't gone yet but have heard cool reviews. Never saw a TV ad for it either, although I don't watch much. |

Wow, this exhibit is STILL running at the DSC? I went a long time ago, and it was very interesting. |

I've heard that the bodies were bought from the Chinese gov't and are the remains of executed political dissidents. Anybody want to confirm/disprove? |

From their site: Will we recognize or know any of the specimens in Our Body: The Universe Within and where do these specimens come from? All of the anatomical specimens contained in Our Body: The Universe Within originate from China and have been provided for the exhibit consistent with the laws of China. The anatomical specimens are not owned by the exhibitors, but are provided by a Chinese foundation to promote educational and medical research of the human body. While we do not have the specific identity of each anatomical specimen, they have been donated through medical schools and other research facilities in China to promote education, science and medical research of the human body. http://www.ourbodytheuniversew ithin.com/news_media.html |

Our Body is a completely different exhibit than Body Worlds which was featured in Casino Royale. BW is much larger and features animals but uses the same process of plastination. |

There are a ton of body exhibits, but the "original" seems to be Body Worlds. BW also apparently is the only one that says they won't use abandoned/unclaimed bodies and seems to be the most legit as far as the bodies being real donors. I really wish one of the Body Worlds exhibits would come here. Aside from the ethical issues, I've heard that it was more impressive and well done than many of the other body exhibits. |

"Im just sick of seeing those things on the tv." Sure beats the ads for Gardner White furniture and replacement windows. Those seem to make up about every other ad on TV in Detroit. One thing that I don't miss. |

My fiance took me last weekend for my birthday... I loved it and found it very interesting. I had been waiting to go see if for a few months now and finally had the time to. I, for one, am glad that it's been extended a few times at the Science Center. |

Dunno if I could stomach it. Might toss my lunch after seeing once-human cadavers... |
