My grandfather told me the other day that his dad used to bartend and manage the Fernwood Lounge on Grand River and Fernwood before, during and after World War II. I assumed this bar was long gone, but a quick google search revealed that the bar still has an active liquor license from the state of Michigan at the same address on the corner of Grand River and Fernwood. The license also lists "Ben and Eugene's place, LLC". Does anybody know anything about this establishment? |

There still exists a bar/building at Fernwood and Grand River, it's called MVP's lounge now. |
