Wow, that article was a pretty shitty written article.

The article seems to be blaming subprimes for Cleveland's population loss since 1950. That isn't the cause of the bulk of the population losses in Cleveland or Detroit.

I doubt that is the basis of the lawsuit, but if it is then I don't have much faith that it will be successful.

Grammatical errors notwithstanding, Cleveland just f'd the home owners they are trying to help.
The people who got screwed with high rates probably wont see a dime, but the lawyers will get plenty.

Many lenders now will just stay out of Cleveland and interest rates or mortgage insurance rates will increase a little. All business costs eventually get passed on to the consumer or the owner eats it.
