Tune in and hear for Craig bring the candidate in for some questions.

Should be interesting...

For those who haven't yet heard of Ron Paul, he's a renegade Republican (some say Libertarian in disguise) running for president outside of the blessings of corporate politics!

Once you're done with the show, in case anyone's interested, Rep. Paul did a Town Hall meeting on Sunday after he was snubbed by Fox News.

A copy of which can be found here, and here.

Believe it or not, this was the first time I listened to him.

I'd heard some of his stuff through the conspiracy theory documentaries...but took him with a grain of salt like everything in 'em.

I liked what he had to say, this is one transcript I will need to read. I do so much better comprehending written things...might have something to do with that slight breeze between my ears!

Cheers.

Go Sharmaal.

Considering past viewpoints expressed here about border security issues--I'm surprised at this Ron Paul love-in. Have a look at his policies on the border issue and "stopping the North American union"...

Not enough to stop my liking the fellow.

His border policies are certainly tainted by a Texas perspective...very different than our Michigan one.

How many politicians are able to exercise all of their campaign promises?

He is one of the only candidates talking about real issues...and the right ones, at that.

Shame is? IF he gets ANY momentum beyond what he's already shown, he's a goner. The Brotherhood of Power and Control have killed lesser men than he in their quest for domination.

Not too many public, credible people have gone against the Federal Reserve Bank and their backers...and lived.

This kinda talk should be on the Non-Detroit side...I only started this because he was on Detroit radio and thought Craig would bring his attention over to Detroit and get RP's take on why we should listen to him.

Better yet, how many candidates have "modified" (read: flip-flopped) their positions to suit the electorate.

From what I've pulled up, Ron Paul's positions 20 years ago are the same as they are today.

Do you want to vote for someone who's consistent, which in my book make a good leader?

Or do you want someone who will change their position at the drop of a hat when it suits them?

Say what you will about Ron Paul (and I don't agree with him on every issue), but if Ron Paul had been president from 2000-2008, none of this housing bubble/mortgage meltdown/skyrocketing foreclosures crap would have happened, including the resulting upcoming recession.

Based on what I've read, he wouldn't have supported our fiat currency or ridiculous trade policies we have now, if that's what you mean.

Ron Paul,

You can now drop out of the presidential race because your not going to make it before Super Tuesday unless Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards and other kick the bucket.

^ What do the democratic candidates have to do with a republican candidate? Ron Paul isn't a socialist, so most democrats wouldn't vote for him anyway. And why drop out? 10% is a good base to build on, especially for a 3rd party candidacy. That would really add a different flavor to the race as it did in '92, and it would also give a heck of a lot of people the chance to vote for who they REALLY want to vote for, instead of the usual "lesser of two evils" crap that will only result in 4 more years of the status quo.

quote:

and I don't agree with him on every issue

Most of his supporters don't agree with him on every issue. It's his core philosophy, honesty and integrity and history in Congress that interest most I believe.

There are more than a few that would usually be voting democratic cheering for this fellow...I know an amazing number of people who support him wholeheartedly, and they're NOT all conspiracy theorists.

Just wish he didn't get all strident vocally when pressed...he'd whine the world into better behavior.

^ The only losers if he loses will be all of us. Every other candidate with a chance of winning is already bought and paid for by corporate America, and overseas entities that should have no voice in american government. But keep being snowed over if you wish. I hear morphine kills the pain while you're being stabbed in the back, and that's all the other candidates are going to give you while they flash their fake smiles and just say whatever they think the people want to hear in order to get elected. Proof of this is that the other candidates all of a sudden start talking about the Constitution, IRS, etc. Why weren't they saying these things from day one like Dr. Ron Paul was? They're seeing that he is taking 10% of the vote away from them, so they're starting to plagiarize Ron Paul's words. Phonies.

FYI, Mike Huckabee already got caught using Rep. Paul's analogy on the US Dollar (i.e. spend, print, spend).

It's sad when they have to steal and recycle other people's ideas w/o giving them credit.

Being poor at ONE communication style does NOT eliminate someone from consideration.

Many true leaders are poor at verbal communication...many times THOSE folks are THE most deliberate and considerate and simply CANNOT exchange witty on-the-spot replies.

You are being too judgemental...over something that is VERY shallow and worthless.

I don't think he's the guy, but needed to clear that up. I'm NOT supporting Paul, at least not yet.

Still waiting for that False Flag Operation...now I am thinking they'll do it where-ever Ron Paul happens to be, so they can finally shut him up.

OR he'll be Wellstoned...or is that Carnahaned?!

He (Paul) made no sense. and they even called him on it.

I'll be the first to admit I am not "eloquent". But a President has to be a good communicator. Even {gasp} GW Bush makes more sense than Paul.

A president has to be a good leader.

I don't know we've had any in my lifetime.

Closest one was Carter...the other one was killed six days before I was born...JFK.

They were the only ones to try to break ranks with the status quo. More I learn of JFK, more I realize he was offed for way more reasons than simply stopping the rabid Cubans from trying to take their country back.

Carter? Holy Cow!

My earliest remembrence was JFK's funeral on TV. I was 1 and 3/4 then.

Jimmy Carter is the most anti-sematic, shit for brains president we have ever had.

You cold? Wear a sweater!

You're jerking my chain?

JR,

NO offense taken at all, please don't temper your words worrying about how they'll land...at least if you HAVE to find a way to send someone off, you seem to do it poetically!

I only WISH I could debate politics, I'll always lapse in human behavior and our weird negative-prone nature every time I talk of ANY committees.

Doesn't mean I don't want learn. When I'm around true debate, like that which used to be presented by the likes of Jelk and some others actually in the know, I'm silent like a churchmouse learning with every word...often in amazement of those who can grasp such organized idiocy.

SO you now know my bias against politicians...problem with OUR system is we allow those who SEEK power to grasp it.

True leaders never seek power and authority, it is given to them...often in desperation when everyone and everything else has failed, or a new situation warrants this unfortunately uncommon appointment.

How you get anti-Semitism out of Carter, I'll never understand. IF anyone in that office, he wanted peace for that area and DID more to foster peace between ALL of the Semitic peoples on all religious sides.

Now, if you think he was anti-Israeli because he wouldn't support the status quo...then I strongly feel you are mistaken.

Having one open to dialogue with your enemy does NOT make them your enemy, too. Without that posture there would be NO hope for peace on the earth.

That 'if you're not with us, you're against us' teaching is taken out-of-context enough to be very troublesome to me, but that is not the first time Jesus' words and other scripture has been used for evil instead!

Jimmy Carter was the smartest president and best man in that office we've had in the twentieth century. Choosing to work WITH the bad fellows in the shadow government bought him years of breath beyond his presidency, but he would've done MUCH better if he had stood up against those in that cabinet-choosing meeting during his transition who interrupted HIS choices.

There were reports of him telling his contemporaries that he was NOT able to appoint everyone he wanted to his advisory positions. He did not have complete authority to choose who he worked with in the Oval Office! They apparently threatened him with death, because other than a few side comments he NEVER addressed this directly.

Carter suffered the wrath of the media anyways, and has been marginalized in history because of some large scale issues that he had NO WAY of addressing and/or fixing.

The economy was still unsettled from the Oil Embargo...the price inflation and such were merely delayed effects of the poorly handled stuff WELL before he was in office.

The rescue of the hostages? Our special forces had great trouble with a sand landing and had to turn back. There were losses of personnel, if I remember correctly, and you can BET the Pentagon designed procedures and equipment to make certain that NEVER happened the same way again.

IF that would've succeeded, all of our military would put him on the HIGHEST pedestal and continually lauded him with praise for the rescue. Since they failed, he is the dog?!

There is nothing I can say negatively against Jimmy Carter except that he didn't stand up against the shadow government then...obviously to save his own life. They proved with JFK what they could and would get away with if they were crossed.

Cheers anyways, I love revisiting this stuff and correcting the record. Carter was the best man we've had for president in the Twentieth Century.
