Seems like a bunch of police cars in the median or blocking lanes on Woodward downtown, around the Fox/Comerica Park area. Anyone know what's going on? |

They direct traffic when there's a major event (likely entertainment at Fox or Fillmore) during rush hour. |

The whole high speed chase thing bothers me. I wish the cops wouldn't do it. There must be safer alternatives? |

Maybe people shouldn't run from the police in the first place... |

That's what happen when you get in the way of police going to an "active scene." Would have been better for the person driving the minvan to not interfere with police activity. |

Remember when Yellow Rat Bastard had the store rigged with a giant habitrail-type thing with live rats running around? |

The news clip says "John R Road." Wouldn't that be a street or avenue in Detroit? Gotta love these suburban writers. They probably live in Brighton or something. jjaba. |

Jjaba: For something like that to make it to print, the editor, proofer and copy editor have to be from the suburbs too. |

There are a few 'roads' in Detroit. Some of the major ones: 8 Mile, 7 Mile, McNichols, Mound, Plymouth, Joy, Alter, Greenfield, Evergreen, Meyers. As for residential 'roads' there are two clusters on the west side: http://maps.google.com/maps?f= q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&t type=&q=detroit&ie=UTF8&ll=42. 434749,-83.233173&spn=0.011624 ,0.019956&z=16&om=0 http://maps.google.com/maps?f= q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&t type=&q=detroit&ie=UTF8&om=0&l l=42.437172,-83.134811&spn=0.0 11624,0.019956&z=16&iwloc=addr And one on the east side: http://maps.google.com/maps?f= q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&t type=&q=detroit&ie=UTF8&ll=42. 437473,-83.135262&spn=0.011624 ,0.019956&z=16&om=0 There's not many of them. |
