Mr. Illitch has refused to recognize Aurie's retired # 6 jersey. But the NHL does. Does anyone here know why? I know it's some sort of great hockey mystery, but maybe someone here has an idea why...

Are Aurie's stats decent in the context of his era? He played a long time ago, when professional hockey was in its infancy.

Aurie was a team leader and seemed to be a popular player in his day.

You are right - I am not sure about the stats. There used to be a lot more offense in the NHL, although his time was probable before the offense picked up through the 80's
