Anyone in Lincoln Park: How do you get to the three houses on the cul-de-sac at the south end of Electric Avenue without disobeying that "DO NOT ENTER" sign? http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q &hl=en&geocode=&q=3980+electri c+av,lincoln+park,mi&sll=49.89 1235,-97.15369&sspn=40.562697, 92.285156&ie=UTF8&ll=42.233586 ,-83.166397&spn=0.011312,0.022 531&z=16&om=0&layer=c&cbll=42. 22926,-83.16686 It's fascinating what you can find on Google Maps street view. |

How did Google get down there? Lawbreakers! So much for their do no evil mantra. Nice Eddy Grant reference, Rsa. (Message edited by fishtoes2000 on February 01, 2008) |

That sign is on the left, not the right side of Electric Ave. so I think it's intended to prevent people from entering the park via that strip of grass there. Note also the guardrail and posts that are probably there for the same reason. Interesting find! |

Exactly, I'm sure something happened where some asshole drove his van along the grass and parked by the baseball diamond. A cop came and told him he couldn't park there, and he said something like "There isn't a sign". So then the city erected the sign so it wouldn't happen again. It's the same reason why we have "No Left Turn" signs on freeway entrances... |

I believe the sign is out in the street, look for a playground nearby and it's in the dark side of town. If you're still having problems due to the confusing sign, I suggest you contact somebody in the Lincoln Park administration. If that doesn't work, I guess you'll have to take it higher. |

While we're at it, we may as well dispose of this connection:
Oops, I hope no one thought I was calling them a moron. I was just noting the literal connection between Moran Ave. and this popular image -- so we can get over that coincidental trivia. (Message edited by Jimaz on February 01, 2008) |

Yes, DTE lines. Note the bent and missing posts there. There might be an interesting story there. Maybe we could form a DetroitYES! Investigative Reporter Team (DIRT) to inquire from the locals the real story about that intersection. |
