Zap is reviving the detroit electric car brand.

Unfortunately it has nothing to do with Detroit itself. Offices will be in California, Manufacturing will be in ........China.

Read the specifications sheets for a good laugh. Lots of smoke and mirrors here - top speed of 155 mph, 300 miles range, lithium-ion batteries that are biodegradable, etc. One vehicle is three wheeled and must be classified as a motorcycle as it would never pass Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. The other hasn't even started any U.S. testing. Even the Chinese vehicles shown at the 2008 NAIAS can't be sold in the U.S. because they do not meet established safety standards. We have to wonder if they will use lead paint!
