Just a guess 701 Woodward Avenue. The numbers ran from 700 at Fort St.. It was on the west side of Woodward so it would be an odd number. |

According to the Fire Insurance Map, it was 731 Woodward. |

And what was the address before Jan. 1, 1921, when the renumbering of all Detroit addresses officially went into effect? |

This might sound dumb, but I don't think it had an address previously. The 731 is off the 1921 map, and that year old and new addresses are denoted. City Hall doesn't have an old address noted. On the 1884 and 1897 maps there is no address noted for City Hall. The last address south of City Hall on Woodward under the old numbering system was 131. |

So, the Hammond Building was 131 Woodward? AIW, do you have a listing for the Woodward address of the Majestic Building (the next building north of City Hall)? |
