There is a Lunar Eclipse happening right now! Clear night. Full moon. Look in the south sky, up high. It's been going on since about 8:00. In a few minutes the moon will be dark and then it will start light up on the other side. Very cool.

Damn cold out, but yeah, perfectly clear sky to see it, now if I can only witness a total solar eclipse someday....

Signed on here about 10 minutes ago. Thanks for the reminder!

I'm out in the country with zero street lights - the view is amazing! Just a sliver of the moon coming through. It was so dark out I couldn't see my hand in front of me.

I'll bet the view of the earth from the moon during an eclipse is something to see. I would think the earth's atmosphere would be brilliant around our planet.

Googling "Earth eclipse" found Eclipses of the Sun by the Earth, seen from the Moon.

Scroll down to "2. ECLIPSES OF THE SUN SEEN FROM THE MOON"

Some mathematics associated with that...wow! Anyway, very profound thinking.
