Hmmm.....sounds interesting.........

The NAACP of Southern Oakland County will hold their next General Meeting, Sunday, February 24, 3:00 p.m. at the City of Southfield Parks & Recreation Building located at 26000 Evergreen between 10 & 11 Mile Roads.

The program theme is “Community Counts – empowering the community through citizen involvement and cultural awareness,” and will feature representatives from ARISE Detroit, a local organization that promotes grassroots methodologies to encourage civic and community participation. The program will also discuss how civic and community volunteerism can be a change agent and influence and impact community initiatives.

ARISE Detroit offers programs that support children and families while creating permanent organizational networks and opportunities for grassroots organizations. The meeting will also feature updates on SOC-NAACP chapter activities and upcoming events.
