Hmmm.....sounds interesting......... The NAACP of Southern Oakland County will hold their next General Meeting, Sunday, February 24, 3:00 p.m. at the City of Southfield Parks & Recreation Building located at 26000 Evergreen between 10 & 11 Mile Roads. The program theme is “Community Counts – empowering the community through citizen involvement and cultural awareness,” and will feature representatives from ARISE Detroit, a local organization that promotes grassroots methodologies to encourage civic and community participation. The program will also discuss how civic and community volunteerism can be a change agent and influence and impact community initiatives. ARISE Detroit offers programs that support children and families while creating permanent organizational networks and opportunities for grassroots organizations.
