So when M-10 was closed, we all said "Dodge the Lodge" What do we call the 1.5 mile I-75 closure for two years?

I like another f word personally. Ahem.

Okay I like Forget the Fisher.

Speaking of this...a friend of our has suggested, and we're thinking of going along with it, of committing to eating in Mexican Town at least 1 time a week until the freeway is fixed. They are going to be screwed up for a while I expect... Anyway, thought I'd pass that along in case anyone else wants to commit as well!

So we could say "Forget the Fisher, Maintain Mexican Town." Or even better "Forget he Fisher, but Masticate at Mexican Town."

Ahem again.

How about, "the freeway F_ up" that put many small business owners out of business because MDOT is too stupid and doesn't care about anyone else.

All of the Southwest Detroit Business Districts- Michigan Avenue, Mexicantown, Corktown, Oakwood Heights, and the West Vernor Business District have banded together on a regional marketing campaign Called "Explore the Detour, Savor Southwest Detroit". To launch in May 2008, the campaign will highlight the fabulous food of Southwest Detroit. We house over 170 restaurants, 30 bakeries, and 27 grocery and speacilty food stores.

We also came up with the Survive 75 idea but rejected it because it's negative and makes people think about NOT coming to the area (Much like "Dodge the Lodge")

How about Malfunction junction...

MDOT has things screwed up completely. In other states when the freeways are being repaired, they have a way of at least keeping one side open and reducing lanes. Our idiots here can only think of completely closing the freaking roads...

Since I don't plan on traveling out of state this year unless a family emergency occurs, it won't affect me. Good luck, and I hope you have plenty of patience to those who have to work through this crap every day.

How about,

Be SMART, take the bus and let's
all vote NO next August 2010 to defeat
the property tax renewal.

Let's all say NO to the SEMCOG/MDOT mult-billion dollar freeway expansion plans that cost the city of Livonia bus service.

We need mass transit and not more freeways.
