While the bar will have a tinge of a sports vibe — how could it not?

You could always sit outside. That way all the dumb sports fans won't ruin your good time.

Dumb sports fans are the only people keeping our economy going right now. How can you underestimate the impact professional sports has on our community? It's where a huge majority of our own entertainment dollars go, as well as where we receive a large portion of our tourism dollars. Opening a bar without banking on sports fans coming to your place to watch a game would be a death sentence.

This, while true, is probably the most depressing thing I've read this year.

Cliff Bells is one block from Comerica Park, discourages Tiger fans from hanging out after games and won't install TVs, radios, or anything promoting sports. They're doing really well; I've never heard a complaint.

That is an exception that caters to a specific niche. Sports is not necessary for all but for places without a specific identify it certainly helps.

Hmmm...funny. I've seen the place packed with Tigers fans post game. What are they doing to discourage them?
