MotorCityBlog just posted a neat video from last Saturday's Detroit Derby Girl's bout at the Masonic Temple.

If you haven't been to a game in a while or are thinking about going, make sure you buy your tickets in advance the last three or four bouts have sold out. Last Saturday's sold out the day before. For more info on upcoming bouts, visit http://www.detroitderbygirls.com/schedule.html

We've also changed the track and seating around so that these bigger crowds can still get great views of the action.

Next next bout is March 29th at the Masonic. The Detroit All Stars take on the Burning River Roller Girls from Cleveland. The Detroit All Stars are 2-0 after beating the Sin City Girls from Las Vegas and the Ohio Roller Girls from Columbus, Ohio. They are still ranked 8th in the nation.

Here's a great shot from the last bout by Colin Johnson. Blackeyed Skeez and Fatal Femme of the D-Funk (green) have a wall going and are blocking Del Bomber of the Pistolwhippers (pink with a star on her helmet). There are more photos at http://www.detroitderbygirls.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=13913

You need a place that can seat more people. How about the state fairgrounds arena? I believe they used to have the old school derby there back in the day.

Yes, more seats would be good. We added a couple hundred after we adjusted the track 2 games ago. The Masonic Drill Hall is pretty much tapped out for more seating.

The derby girls are discussing options with Olympia Entertainment about some options. The Fairgrounds have been mentioned.

I'd like to see Carlita out there with her Louisville Slugger. She'd really be a big draw.
The family might need the extra income soon.

I wouldn't mind just seeing a Carlita Kilpatrick & Christine Beatty out there on the track alone and see how they settle things.

They'd have to turn people away. Have Kwame as referee and maybe they'd turn on him like at a WWF match!!

The two original Detroit Derby Girl teams were called the Motown Hit Squad and the KILLpatricks.

The last time I went to a roller derby was at the Olympia. It was a blast.
