But the new proposal calls for the mayor to appoint two members, with the council appointing two and the final one chosen by both. Great. another thing for the council and the mayor to squable over... |

Well, Kwame should have NEVER chastised Ken Cockrel in front of the whole TV viewing audience, making him (Cockrel) seem like a child. Big mistake. (Message edited by Ladyinabag on March 13, 2008) |

That was unbelievably uncalled for. Amazingly, it wasn't even the most uncalled for part. |

It was completely uncalled for, but somehow I think Mr. Cockrel will have the last word |

Well, if Kwame would have resigned, council wouldn't have to consider changing the way the city is run (essentially) due to one bad apple. It's not fair to future administrations. Council also needs to enact their babysitting authority and redesign the rule for contracts worth a minimum of $25,000 needing their approval. I agree with what was said in the recent past and changing that limit to $5,000. All these crappy little distractions will start adding up. All the public ever asked for out of their servent is answers. The only answers we're getting is from the bend over backwards efforts of the media. Therefore, this (and a mountain more) is what is expected when a powerful leader is exempt from accountability. Make future plans for more corruption that will have direct impacts on city residents. |

In Kwame's mind, he was just reminding him how much he loved him before he had to tuck him in before nighty night. We have to think outside the box from here on out...and even more challenged by thinking like Kwame...WWKD? |

At this point, I wonder if receivership is best for Detroit. No real leaders are stepping up to the plate and the people we have now are as corrupt as you can get. |

Except for Ken Cockrel Jr. and Brenda Jones, the rest of the Council are loose cannons. I wouldn't trust Council with increased power. |

Let's be honest here. The next major benchmark for all this drama is when Kym Worthy says hi. It will be the only thing to change everything. |
