Not sure what Michigan got, but the Houston Zoo is nice, much better than the mile you have to walk between exhibits at the Detroit Zoo. I do agree that the system is unfair how everything gets divided up, like the Boston Tunnel.

I heard a report the other day that said the House recently took up a bill that would eliminate all forms of earmarks, which help inflate our federal budget deficit and keep individual lawmakers popular among recipients. It was soundly defeated.
