Patty Formosa, a retail consultant and the Director of Economic Development for Pitney Bowes Mapinfo, will speak about retail in Detroit. Ms. Formosa has over 18 years of experience in the retail planning and site selection industry. Retailers pay her to analyze demographic and GIS information and determine where they should build stores. She will talk about what retailers look for, the retail situation in Detroit, and what Detroit can do to attract more retail.

Ms. Formosa’s presentation is:
Thursday, May 8, 2008
6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
At 1515 Broadway Theater at 1515 Broadway St., Detroit, MI, 48226.

The event is open to the public. It is free to Cityscape members and there is a $8 recommended donation for nonmembers.

Cityscape Detroit is the oldest nonprofit group in Detroit devoted to urban planning, urban design, preservation, architecture, investment, green spaces, pedestrianism/human scale development, urbanism, and the "built environment.” More information is available at http://www.cityscapedetroit.or g. The group has been involved in planning and development issues; organizing educational lectures, discussions and tours; marketing the city, its architecture and history; attracting investment; and making Detroit a better place to live for almost thirty years.
