Potential Midtown dwellers and city-lovers alike will get lit during Detroit’s legendary Illuminate event taking place on May 9 at Studio One Apartments, Midtown Detroit’s newest residential development. Party-goers will get the first view of the furnished models while enjoying cocktails, local cuisine, live music, an art display and Illuminate’s most unique fashion show to date!

Illuminate is from 8 p.m. to midnight and is $10 at the door. All proceeds from the event benefit StandUp for Kids, a non-profit organization that helps rescue homeless and at-risk youth. Studio One Apartments is located at 4501 Woodward Avenue between Forest Avenue and Canfield Street.

“I am thrilled to officially open Studio One Apartments’ models for the very first time during Illuminate,” said Marcel Burgler, Studio One Apartments Developer and Prime Development principal. “As a Grand Rapids native, Detroit has been so welcoming and I can’t wait to truly meet the community during this event. It is going to be a great time.”

Studio One Apartments’ first floor retail space will be transformed by Detroit-based Display Group into a lit-up lounge where guests can drink, dine and dance. Detroit’s martini-masters from Pulse will provide cocktails and beer and local restaurants including Slow’s Bar BQ and Vicente’s Cuban Cuisine will serve delicious fare.

At 10 p.m., Detroit’s Dudes, Dames and Dogs will model shoes provided by Sole Sisters while walking Detroit's most fashionable pooches, who will sport leashes provided by Canine to Five Detroit.

Illuminate attendees will get the first view of fully furnished one and two bedroom models on the second floor. They will also be able to stroll the art gallery presented by Detroit Artist Market in four other second-floor apartments. The gallery will feature approximately 50 works of art from 18 artists. The art will range in price from $100 to $1,500 and can be paid for with cash, check, Visa and MasterCard.

“This is my fifth year of Illuminating Detroit’s newest residential developments,” said Elizabeth Tintinalli, Illuminate creator. “Illuminate has gained this unbelievable reputation of attracting hundreds of people to a one-of-a-kind party that offers a completely unique opportunity to see properties before they are completed.”

What a fantastic idea! Obviously, they advertise this at WSU, but they should shoot for seniors at MSU, UofM, and even OSU as well!
