I'm creating a website about Detroit and my goal is to uplift the image of the city. I just would like some ideas on what you think Detroit's attributes are...For ex: Renaissance Center, Downtown Detroit, Restaurants, Ethnicities, etc.. thanks.. |

Some of Detroit's biggest assets are the riverfront and the open border with Canada. Our shared fireworks display during the International Festival. The Ambassador Bridge and the tunnel. Old Mariner's church. And our Motown legacy |

I run a blog, and while in the beginning stages of development, attempts to promote the positive side of Detroit/metro. Also, though positives regarding Detroit include a history of a creative class and you should look into the creative class still trucking along in the city. Belle Isle gets a bad rap but is an umbelievable city park which should be recognized for what it is and can be. Eastern market and its renovation. Campus martius. Heidleberg projects attempt to take a creative stand and make something out of nothing. Downtown art deco skyscrapers. Music history. Southwest detroit is growing and shows a some nice culture. Greektown can be gimmicky but good tourist attraction. Casinos whether you agree or not are here to stay for now. Look into urban garden groups. Summer festivals in the city. Neighborhoods such as indian village, boston edison, and palmer woods. Great music venues and old theaters. Downtown arenas. Etc. Also, not to mention, outerlying suburban downtowns like Royal Oak and Bham. Not in the city, but nothing wrong with those downtowns which are doing well and seem to be prospering. OH and Coney Islands for sure, along with Buddy's Pizza. there are a lot of great things to list. www.DetroitArmy.com |

As if we don't have enough of these--good luck though, perhaps you will lead with the winning site. |

I enjoy Detroit Blog for the writing style and the fact that, besides invading and exploring vacant downtown skyscrapers, Detroitblogger John discovers hidden gems in outlying neighborhoods in the city. |
