They should consider changing their format over to comedy. Craig Kilborn was 10 times funnier than that zero. |

Craig Kilborn Are you kidding me!? He hosted the show for what 2 whole years? Stewart has been hosting the show for 9 years and has made it one of the most popular shows on television, winning numerous awards and actually keeping people informed while making them laugh. One vote here for hilarious. Can't blame The Daily Show for capitalizing, maybe it'll help the continued pressure to get this jerk off out of office. |

Craig Kilborn is a moran. John Stewart is a thousand times a better host for the Daily Show than he ever was. |

I less than rarely watch the Daily Show, but happened to be flipping channels last night and saw KK's face on the intro to that skit, so I tuned in for something to bitch about (thinking it would be terrible and derogatory towards the city). Ended up laughing my @ss off. Really put the ridiculousness of the scandal into perspective. I was hoping to hear the R. Kelly impersonator's take on some of the steamier text messages. |

It's weird, but I find myself hoping the Mayor Kilpatrick stays in office - just to see what kind of material Comedy Central comes up with next. IJFGB: 5 simple letters with so much laughter behind them. |

I never saw that video before, and thanks FlyingJ. I didn't know of that report by Steve, I think there should be a Thread dedicated to show how much of a thug the mayor really is. "QUIT BUYING PROSTITUTES, FAT A**", Classic. |

I can't imagine why anyone would have a problem with this segment. Stewart did it more justice in five minutes than most of the national media has, but he does that on most news stories. He opened it up by explaining the lies that cost the cops their jobs which is the REAL ISSUE here, then laid on the steamy sex stuff for laughs and just to show how ridiculous the whole thing is. The cheap and easy thing to do would have been to just focus on the sex. No, he first explained the lies that cost Gary Brown his job, the IMPORTANT issue. So kudos to Jon Stewart, brilliant satire. |

Mikea, the only people who have a problem with this skit, including those who were "afraid" of what it might have been about before they saw it, are those who have so convinced themselves that pointing out the wrongdoing (and in this case idiocy) of anyone or anything connected to Detroit is somehow a malicious attack on the city itself. Just like the chickenhawk neocons who call you unpatriotic and not supporting the troops if you dare criticize the war or the President. I remember crumbled_pavement used a word to describe these kinds of people (admittedly, he used it incorrectly in my opinion), but here it definitely applies: tools. |
