So I saw this video on youtube called buzzword bingo (http://youtube.com/watch?v=cge LY7CL5IE)and it got me and a couple other dyer's thinking about how it relates to Dyes.

Just for humor.. let's build our virtual bingo board of words and phrases people overuse.

1. World class city
2. Spur economic development
3. Catalyst
4. Cheese Cake Factory
5. Mixed use
6. Light rail
7. Signature tower
8. Retail

I won't spoil it all, have @ it and add your own. Let's see who wins.

Mass Transit (as in "the need for...", like as if our streets are gridlocked with traffic jams)
Best Pizza, Restaurant, Pasta, Bakery, etc. (like as if some anonymous person on the internet is going to have the same taste buds as you or as if you should only go to one of the above because it is so far superior to the competition)
Fabulous Ruins (I know I'll catch some flack for this, and no disrespect to Lowell, but very few Detroit ruins could be considered "fabulous")
Safety of Detroit (as in "how safe would it be for me to drive in or move to Detroit", like who has never heard that Detroit is the "Murder Capital")
Acceptability of chain stores, restaurants, etc. in Detroit (as if we can be picky)
Eastside/Westside (ENOUGH ALREADY!)

The use of the word "Detroit" to mean everything from:

Downtown Detroit,
The City of Detroit proper,
The government of Detroit,
The residential areas of Detroit,
The metropolitan area of Detroit,
The auto industries (Big 3) of Detroit,
etc.

For example, someone will say "I love Detroit" when they really mean to say "I love downtown Detroit".

Marijuana should be legalized.
Graffiti is art.
It's okay to trespass, as long as you're taking pictures.
Detroit is no less safe than the suburbs.
Detroit needs light rail, subways, L-train, etc. (so we can be like "other cities")
We must save every abandoned building.

I kind of like this "group self-deprecation", Viziondetroit. It's kind of therapeutic!

So much time and so little to do, that adds up to potential.
