The Holiday shopping season is about to start. With Black Friday the "kick off" of the season. In today's Detroit News there is a interesting about Hudson's and it's collection with the Black Friday retail orgy. Hudson's in 1981 started with a early bird sale and that grew in to Black Friday as we know today. On Thanksgiving Day Hudson's unleash a blitz of TV and newspaper ads. The next day at 9 a.m (1/2 hour earlier) Hudson's will open thier doors. The 1st 1981 slae was called the "Beat the Clock" sale. The following year every store had thier own Black Friday sale.
