The Wayne County Commission today approved an ordinance changing how funds are distributed from the Wayne County parks millage.

Under provisions of the ordinance, 25 percent of the revenue will be spilt among Wayne County's 43 municipalities that contribute to the millage. The must use the money to improve their parks and related facilities. The other 75 percent will be allocated for improvements and operations at Hines Park, Elizabeth Park and other county-operated parks facilities.

Interesting.... As i live right by Hines Park, I have to say that the millage is something that I strongly support. I hope this still gives WCP enough to continue to make the kind of capital improvements that we have seen lately.

Mmm. I wonder how the $$ were distributed in past years. Will Detroit get a larger share now or less? Seems the sponsors, all but one, from suburbia are smiling now. Did detroit's get shafted?
