Also the US gov't are trying to take the Windsor van plant to St. Louis as a part of the bailout package.
I can't wait until Canada gives them some cash when the U.S won't and then what? Will they move up here? If that is the case I say Canada, who is in a better position to bail them out should give them the $30 billion and ask for many plants to move here.

The St. Louis minivan plant was closed this year. Chrysler has threatened to move minivan production and 300/Charger production from Canada (Windsor and Brampton, ON) to St. Louis and Detroit if the governments of Canada and Ontario did not provide emergency financial help. Of course, this was before the Senate negotiations collapsed.

Regardless, (unless the United States let the Detroit 3 go bankrupt) one would expect Canada and Ontario to provide emergency funding.

Would love to move to Canada. Don't know if they want Michigan expats, but it sounds more and more appealing...

The Canadian feds have pledged to contribute financial aid for the Canadian automakers to the tune of 20% of whatever the U.S. amount ends up being.

Now they're just waiting for the U.S. to figure it out on their end.
