I'm looking to get some professional-grade pictures of Detroit, like the Skyline, riverfront, RenCen to decorate my apartment.

Does anyone know of a good store, photolab, or website of where I could purchase these?

Does anywhere sell framed photos?

Thanks

Yes, definitely see Ryan Southen's website. You will surely find something you like.

I'm reluctant to plug myself because I suck, but I like feedback (and will occasionally be asked by someone to use a photo); since you're probably interested in perusing Detroit photos, you can see my page here. I'm getting ready to get a much nicer camera, and am moving back to Detroit for awhile, so stay tuned to that for newer, nicer photos.

There is also an HOF thread full of links to lots of peoples' photography of Detroit. See that.

I too love Ryan Southen's work. I have two pics of downtown and always am perusing his site looking for more. Check out the metallic prints. Just beautiful!

A couple non-profits are selling Detroit photos in the RenCen Wintergarden during Riverdays. Today is the last day!

Yeah, hit Ryans site - he has gone to great lengths to photograph everything every other Detroit photographer has shot. One stop shopping, if you are not concerned with originality.

Wow Mauser,

Kind of a jerky post eh? I like Ryan's work, he actually has some of my favorite photographs of the city.

Not a huge fan of the HDR stuff, but when subtly used it makes for some amazing images.

Why don't you go back to your blog that nobody reads.

So a "good" photographer can't shoot anything unless it's totally obscure? Good luck with that Mauser, I'll take Ryan's work any day.

Another endorsement for Ryan Southen here. I have one of his prints at the largest size he has available on my wall. Absolutely love it.

I bought a real nice panorama print of downtown detroit off of Ebay 3 years ago. Hangs on my living room wall above the couch. Girlfriend is moving in and wants to swap the print out for some more artsy photo. told her No ah ah!

I have loads of them that I took over the years, probably thousands going back to the early 80's along with hundreds of stunning tack sharp color transparencies dating from the early 1950's that I picked up over the years. Briggs stadium, Fort Street Station, Tuller Hotel, D&C ships, Street Cars etc, etc, etc. I lot of cool stuff from before the era of the glass box. Some even in stereo which are truly mind boggling to view. I will probably post a few from time to time just for the fun of it.
