Please just let this nightmare end. It is such a losing situation for Windsor I can't believe our foolish mayor thinks it is a good idea. Can this stupidity now!

It's horrid monetary policy to bank an operating budget on one-time fixes. It only delays the inevitable and takes away resources from what one-time cash infusions should do which is bolster the rainy day fund and pay for capital improvements.

The city of Detroit administration AND council has it's budgetary priorities all wrong - it's clearly about providing jobs first, not about providing services.

They may have their priorities wrong, but at least the council wouldn't approve it.

So how many more properties can Kwame sell, before he finally has to come up with a real balanced budget using actual income money instead of these cocked up plans to sell city property? I can't believe Border Patrol/Homeland Security would even sign off on such a sale. Now mind you, it is a good idea to sell excess property, when it's no longer useful, but relying on it to balance the budget every year, is absurd.

How about selling Manoogian Mansion first?

Now Channel 4 is stating that Detroit council is "warming up" to the idea.

What a waste of taxyapers dollars for lawyers and consultants when this deal should have been dead in the water as soon as it appeared.

Selling the Manoogian mansion would likely require the OK of the Manoogian heirs. Fortunately, unlike the large number of Rackham heirs (for selling the golf course next to the zoo)... there's not that many Manoogians... likely Richard Manoogian (MASCO Corp. Chairman, and DIA Founders Society Chairman), as well as his siblings, if he has any.

Last time I checked there were only 3 American cities that have city owned mayoral mansions... Houston, Detroit and NYC (Gracie Mansion).

I bet the Manoogians are praying for a selloff... seems like so many mayoral scandals have the word "Manoogian" in it. They're probably not thrilled with having the family name associated with corruption (even though they're not involved).

Kwame just wants to ruin whatever Detroit has left before he goes to jail. :-)

If he can't be the mayor, no one can.

Maybe he'll try to sell the river to Phoenix and Las Vegas. Works for me.

Bad news folks! The Detroit city "CLOWNSIL" decided not to give the Detroit side of the Detroit/ Windsor Tunnel to a private company. Therefore the Kilpatrick Administration will have to plan some lay-offs for 1300 city employees.

The party is really over. So much for " Our Future Begins Right Here Right Now!"

Word is, is that KK is as big a puppet as anyone in the Executive Branch, that he's been used and is now just like one of them people who seen 3 or 4 miles of really bad road, now he being hung out to dry. Just let the thing get even worse and let's get to rock bottom as soon as possible so that the healing may begin. Until then... YEEEOUCH! Also, the word "CLOWNSIL" I've seen used more and more on a steady, regular basis. And I live in relative cavernousity. Lay 'em off, stop selling and trying to sell, that friggin' sellout.
