The Dickinson Island thread got me thinking about other islands. Pontiac Lake has 2. Both have a few houses on them. Has anyone been on these islands or known anyone who owned property on them? I've been curious about them for awhile. |

Lakeville Lake had a small island in it back in the 60's. Anybody ever seen it or been on the island? |

Tackles drive is actually connected to the mainland by a small strip of land, so I wouldnt consider it an island. Gail Island is one of them. There are houses on it but I have no idea if any are primary residences. |

The 2 small islands to the South West of Gail Island also have cottages. I'm not sure if there are any primary residences there, but I've seen people at the homes on Gail Island during both summer and winter months. (Message edited by Johnnny5 on June 27, 2008) |

The island is accessible only by boat-no bridge for cars, etc. How would someone even be able to access it during winter months when the water is icy? |

My guess is that the residences are seasonal. I recall back around 1986 or 1987 my friends dad lived in a cottage on Arlington Road right on the lake. My friend and I would take out the rowboat and "discover" the islands that were uninhabited, save for a picnic table for the partiers. Should be real fun when the Quake on the Lake comes to town! |

Probably the lake island with the most history behind it is Apple Island on Orchard Lake. http://www.gwbhs.com/articles/ AppleIsland1.htm |
