Eastern Market in the hot weather, when the barbeques are jamming and the karaoke is swinging and everybody is smiling. Detroit Steak Seasoning - HOORAY! |

Maybe random, but understandable,,,to stand in front of Bert's on a hot Summer Saturday afternoon listening to music amid the smiles of fellow Detroiters is indeed a reason to be cheerful. Another: savoring a cool drink and people-watching while sitting outside Lola's or the Rhinoceros on a hot Summer evening. |

I never understood why people enjoy sitting outside at a restaurant or cafe when it's hot and humid out... *shrug* |

Me either. Now sitting in an air conditioned room, that's nice. |

You got it, 65m. Being out with Detroiters is a lovely thing. An air conditioned room is no substitute. |

Well here's reason #4...Comerica Park had record attendance on Saturday (for the year or ever...dunno?) But the crowd in downtown Detroit was so live, that the MGM Hotel and Casino was completely booked with no vacancies for the night. Detroit can't rely solely on tourism to survive, but it's going to be a big help when out of towners come into the city and see that there are plenty of opportunities to invest and make some money. YPD p.s. bad news: I want to kill the Tigers' bullpen. |

I posted the first couple reasons months ago. I was at the game too, Ypd, but I had fun anyway, because I discovered Leinenkugel Summer Sunset beer (or whatever it's called) and they were so delicious i had several of them. And woke up with no hangover. Made me damn cheerful today! |

Reason 6... While any of the auto companies can lose a few hundred million in a quarter, Wachovia showed the auto industry how to really lose money--$9 billion in it's 2Q!! |

>>I never understood why people enjoy sitting outside at a restaurant or cafe when it's hot and humid out... *shrug*<< For those of us who have a body temp of just over freezing, the heat and humidity can be a wonderful thing! I'm with you folks on the Eastern Market, the grill and karaoke....nothing like it, ANYWHERE! |

Although, I'm not sure I've ever had the Detroit Steak Seasoning. Can I get it at Rafal's? |
