We mostly rely on the ever-popular "golly, there was a power failure at the precinct just before candidate X made his/her come-from-behind charge to the lead" system.. As I remember in the election of 2004, there were absentee ballots that were not counted until 24 - 48 jours later in Detroit. If the absentee ballots can't be counted until election and a full 20% of Voters use absentee, then it might be really close. That is if they actually count the absentee. Also absentee ballots must be postmarked by the day of election, so they might get there the day after election. | ||

Not my district, but if it were, she'd get my vote on the "anyone but another Kilpatrick" platform..
