The renovation of the Book Cadillac Building is the largest, most important development project in Detroit in years. Cityscape Detroit is pleased to offer a “hard hat” tour of the Book/Cadillac while it is under renovation. The group will meet a block up Washington Blvd at Bookies Tavern. The tour will be in building an hour, and will include the first floor, ballrooms, upper floor condo, and possibly one of the penthouses. The tour will be led by Jeanette Pierce, owner of the tour company Inside Detroit. We will discuss Washington Blvd as we walk to the Book Cadillac, and, time permitting, will stop in the beautiful St. Aloysius church. There are two tours:

When: Monday, August 11
When: 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Where: Leave from Bookies Tavern at 1265 Washington Blvd, Detroit
Cost: $15 nonmembers, $5 members
Details: Tour will leave Bookies at 5:30pm

When: Friday, August 15
When: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
Where: Leave from Bookies Tavern at 1265 Washington Blvd, Detroit
Cost: $15 nonmembers, $5 members
Details: Tour will leave Bookies at Noon. Grab a sandwich/soup/lunch first.

Spaces are limited - there are a handful left for each tour. RSVP to: akoper@ameritech.net

Because the Book Cadillac is a construction site, do not wear any open-toed shoes or skirts/dresses.
