Another day, another dumb Forbes list with Detroit on it. Not that this one is all that bad. Detroit ranked No. 15 among the U.S. in drinkers. http://www.forbes.com/2008/08/ 07/alcohol-drinking-cities-for beslife-drink08-cx_de_avb_0807 hard.html?feed=rss_popstories |

The lists seriously have to stop. But yeah, this one is more benign when it comes to Detroit. |

Ah, finally something to be proud of! Detroit has a history as a working class community, with lots of immigrants from those great beer drinking places like Poland and Germany, and even though our City and region have changed and now we have lots of folks whose ancestry is west Africa or Yemen or Russia, we have still managed to hold on to one important part of our cultural heritage! Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go grab a Labatt's out of the eskie and drink to this list! Est is nicht der schnitzelbank? Ja, das ist der schnitzelbank! Or some such thing. |
