Anybody know what the hell this is?

Anybody got a note from the water department saying they may have been incorrectly charged this?

I tried going to the water board website--it's down (what a shocker that is!
Thanks

I think it = Industrial Waste Control, but I don't know what it does or whether anything is going on with the charges.

On the notice it is spelled out as Industrial Waste Charge.

I just got my water bill, nothing on there. I am not in the city proper, but we do have Detroit water. There are sites showing different communities have addressed these charges from DWSD in the past, nothing recent that I've found.

Thanks that worked!

Now if I could only understand what the definition of commercial is--I would be all set!!

There are nine buildings all have four or more units (all at least 40+) but only five have the charge on them.

Now this may be a case of me shutting up and thanking god they haven't found out about the other three or they are incorrectly charging me for the other six

The wacky part is--In the notice it starts off with " DWSD is investigating whether certain commercial accounts have been mistakenly charged the IWC charge"

So anybody know which Commercial Accounts should get the charge?

Your doing better than us. Down here it's called a sewer waste run off charge. Every house and commercial property pays it based on the amount of cement on their property. This includes patios. The kicker is they bill us on your annual property tax so it saves up for 12 months, then hits ya.
