That's a pretty radical website. They seem to be against international bridges. It looks like a photo of some other existing bridge.

A search of the I-5 bridge (which comes up if you scroll over the picture) shows it to be an OLD pair of bridges between Portland and Vancouver.

Sean of detroit,

Are you being serious, or facetious? Either way, no, that is not what the bridge will look like. It's certain that the public-owned/operated bridge will have to have a higher clearance than the one pictured. It will only have a pier or two, and will be either suspension or cable-stayed.

I'll be surprised if that public bridge gets built anytime soon anyway. Nobody here seems to be too keen on spending the $2-3 billion it's going to cost on this side, including a another massive tearing up of I-75 about a mile south of the current Gateway Project. And then there's the fact that the preferred location for the US plaza will involve pretty much erasing Delray.

I hate to say it and I know I will draw the ire of several on here but, so. I'm sorry Delray is not exactly the poster child for safety and is kind of a dump. Not many architecturally significant buildings that are worth saving.

That's the Detroit side. Mt. Elliott.
