There is, I think still in business, a restaurant supply place that sells used stuff on gratiot not far past Eastern Market.

You may want to call first though because I may be confusing it with somewhere else.I think it is Gratiot/Warren area.

I have been to most restaurant supply shops already, but prefer getting one from a closing bakery or coffee shop, without all the mark-up pricing...thanks though

This might be a double post, my browser is acting goofy. But you might try Hagelstein's on Washington in Royal Oak. They're out of business but it seems intact. Try their old number, (248) 541-0566.

In the classifieds, there are always listings of businesses closing, going out of business, selling off their shelving/equipment, etc. Look in all classifieds, esp the smaller papers like Trading Times (are they even still around?), those local papers like Advisor/Source, etc. I glance at them all the time but never read the ads much. If I see any though I'll let you know.

Did you also try Craig's List?

I just went to craigslist. Typed in display cooler. Lots of them. One listed for $600 in Dearborn Hts. Listed 8-11. There are at least 10 more. Go to craigslist and list under "wanted." Also go to the Ann Arbor craigslist.

IMJ, this type of posting does not belong in Discuss Detroit. you should post something like this in classified ads, or in non-detroit, etc.

but im glad you are tracking down what you're looking for.

Chefbrandon, there is a closed coffee shop (Corner Coffee) located in Troy on Livernois and Long Lake that has equipment still inside. The space is for lease and has a phone number on the window or you can also try E-bay.

While were on the topic, I'd like to turn this into a Detroit thread. I'm also looking into buying some display cases, but not refrigerated. I'm looking for more of a transport "briefcase" styles, and trade show/jewelry store type displays (I found some on Ebay, and have not looked at Craigslist yet).

Anyway, I have a question about a Detroit based display company. Has anyone ever done business with "Detroit Display & Design"? How are they? Should I give them a call? They don't appear to have a web site, which for some reason makes me question their credibility (even though it probably means nothing).

Can anyone recommend any other Detroit or Michigan based companies that are involved in display cases or kiosks?

The closed up Rite Aid at 9 and John R has a sign in the window advertising a fixture sale. Would a Pop Cooler work?
